Bookings, quotes or WhatsApp: how should customers book your service?
Three ways customers ask for your time, what each is good at, and how to stop losing requests in a chat thread.

Most service businesses in Pakistan and the Gulf already take bookings on WhatsApp. It is where customers are, and it costs nothing. The trouble starts when the business grows: messages get buried, two people are promised the same afternoon, and nobody can remember what price was agreed. The answer is rarely to abandon WhatsApp. It is to decide which requests belong where.
Online booking system vs WhatsApp: what's the difference?
WhatsApp is a conversation. A booking system is a record. In a conversation, the details (the time, the service, the price) live inside the chat and depend on someone reading back through it. In a booking system, each request becomes an entry with those details filled in, in one list your team can see.
- WhatsApp is best for questions, reassurance and quick back-and-forth with a customer you already know.
- Online bookings are best for services with a set price and length: a haircut, an AC service, a consultation.
- Quote requests are best when you cannot price the job without details or a visit: renovation, repairs with an unknown fault, bespoke work.
When should a service be bookable online?
If you could tell a stranger the price and how long it takes without asking a single question, the service can be booked online. The customer picks a service and a time, and you get a confirmed request instead of a chat to decode. Fixed prices suit identical jobs; an hourly rate suits work that varies in length.
On Biizay, each service has its own pricing: fixed, hourly or by quote. Customers choose a preferred time when they book, the service's notice period is checked so nobody books you for an hour from now, and the job lands in a schedule your team works from. Our guide to taking bookings and quotes online covers setting up each service.
When is a quote request better than a booking?
Whenever a fixed price would either scare customers off or lose you money. A leaking pipe can be a washer or a wall. Here the website's job is to collect a good request (what is wrong, where, a photo, when suits them) so you can reply with a real price quickly.
Biizay's request form opens from the service page with the service already attached, and the customer can add a preferred time. When the customer accepts your quotation, it becomes an order and the job is scheduled for the time they asked for.
Can customers still reach you on WhatsApp?
Yes, and they should. Put your WhatsApp number in your store's contact details and it appears where customers look for it. Biity, the assistant on your store, offers a one-tap WhatsApp link when a customer wants a person, with their question already written in the message. To be clear about what it does not do: Biizay does not take orders or bookings inside WhatsApp. WhatsApp stays your conversation channel, and the booking itself is recorded in your store.
How to move from WhatsApp-only to bookings without losing customers
- 1Put your two or three most-requested fixed-price services online first.
- 2When someone asks for one of them on WhatsApp, reply with the link to book it. Most customers prefer picking a time to waiting for a reply.
- 3Move jobs you cannot price to quote requests, so details arrive written down.
- 4Keep WhatsApp for questions and follow-ups, not as your diary.
What about payment?
A booked fixed-price service can be paid at checkout: Biizay's checkout takes cash, or card through your own Stripe account if your business has one. A quoted job is paid once the customer accepts the price. Neither needs a delivery address, so a services-only checkout skips that step. JazzCash and Easypaisa are not available at Biizay's checkout yet.
